Discover Granger Bay

A new stretch of Cape Town’s Atlantic coastline is being opened up to the city. Over the next 15 to 20 years, this R20 billion-plus development will bring new homes, hotels, jobs, public space and a protected bay for swimming, kayaking and boating. A 540-metre seawall will help protect the coastline, while a new coastal walkway will connect the V&A directly to the Sea Point promenade.

Inspired by nature and crafted by hand, Mia Mélange creates contemporary homeware from locally sourced cotton rope.

Mia Mélange handcrafts home décor products such as baskets, planters, bowls, placemats, bags and more. All our products are made in our Stellenbosch studio by local artisans. Our designs are inspired by a love for nature, texture, natural materials and ancient crafting techniques. We combine all of these to create modern and functional designs. Our products are made from 100% cotton rope. The cotton is grown locally in South Africa by farmers who are members of the Better Cotton Initiative (BCI). The yarns are spun in South African mills. The rope is braided locally in Cape Town. We believe in empowering women and creating opportunities in our community.
