Why the V&A Waterfront?

A neighbourhood that’s alive

Ten districts, 22 landmarks, and an energetic harbour. The V&A Waterfront sits between Table Mountain and the Atlantic Ocean, 30 minutes from Cape Town International Airport, at the geographic and cultural centre of the city. Your guests won't be travelling to a mere venue; they’ll be looking forward to an experience.

Why the V&A Waterfront?

End-to-end support

When you submit an application below, an experienced events team will guide you through the process of obtaining permits. In-house catering as well as audio-visual and security services are available for most spaces.

Why the V&A Waterfront?

Your audience is here

Every public event held at the V&A Waterfront benefits from the neighbourhood's daily footfall,1.7 million visits per month, rising to 2.6 million in summer. Your event draws from an audience that is already here, moving through the precinct.

Conferencing

World-class conference centres

Fourteen conference and meeting venues sit across the precinct, from boardrooms to large-format spaces, all within walking distance of hotels, restaurants and convenient parking garages. Each comes with operational support and a permits team that manages the process from application to close. The neighbourhood does the rest.

Shared values

Greener events

The V&A Waterfront is home to 30 Green Star-rated buildings, the largest concentration on the continent. Since 2009, the precinct has cut carbon emissions by 47%, reduced energy consumption by 48%, and diverted 70% of its waste from landfill. We’ll help you plan a greener event.

People

Local suppliers are prioritised across the precinct to reduce transport emissions and keep spend inside the Cape Town economy. When you host here, that supply chain is already in place.

Planet

Pre-loved décor, precinct-wide recycling infrastructure, and a commitment to repurposing over disposal. Waste diversion is not an add-on at the V&A Waterfront. It is built into how the neighbourhood runs.

Purpose

Unwanted items from events across the precinct are donated to local charities and organisations, keeping usable goods out of landfill and in the hands of people who need them.
