Hotels at the V&A Waterfront offer a unique experience inside a neighbourhood that has been alive for over 160 years.
From intimate boutique properties to five-star resorts, every hotel here sits within a working harbour, a creative economy, and a community where there’s always a reason to stay a little longer.
Wake up to the harbour and enjoy your favourite coffee spot as you experience the convenience of having everything within walking distance.
Living at the V&A Waterfront means living inside one of the most connected neighbourhoods in Africa, with everything that comes with it: security, convenience and a view that never gets old.
At the V&A Waterfront, people come together to work, visit, create and belong. More than a destination, it's a neighbourhood of opportunity, supporting 30,000 direct jobs and contributing R45.9 billion to the economy.
A new stretch of Cape Town’s Atlantic coastline is being opened up to the city. Over the next 15 to 20 years, this R20 billion-plus development will bring new homes, hotels, jobs, public space and a protected bay for swimming, kayaking and boating. A 540-metre seawall will help protect the coastline, while a new coastal walkway will connect the V&A directly to the Sea Point promenade.

There’s no need to feel torn between getting your festive shopping done and making holiday memories with your loved ones. At Watershed, you can have it all!

In keeping up with celebrating the spirit for festive and Joy from Africa, meet our Watershed cascade.
Our uplifting and fabulously festive Watershed installation is a celebration of all the inspired and inspiring creative businesses that contribute their can-do attitudes and exceptional craft or artistry to this vibrant destination for local design.
The bold geometric print with beaded surround that you see on many of the striking baubles above you are the inspired designs of ONEOFEACH. Owned by dynamic mother-and daughter fashion duo Tamburai and Pauline Chirume, ONEOFEACH bridges art, fashion, design and social impact, underpinned by a spirit of creative authenticity.
With sustainability as a core ONEOFEACH consideration, all printed with traditional motifs that draw inspiration from across the African continent, and items like silk scarves, clothing and bags are produced in very limited editions to offer uniqueness and individuality.
ONEOFEACH is also behind the establishment of the groundbreaking African Academy of Fashion in Cape Town. The Academy bridges the between the higher education system and workplace, providing a platform for young women from underserved communities to acquire skills to increase their employability prospects within the fashion industry, or to potentially start their own creative businesses.

Have you noticed the vibrant painterly print of many of the disk baubles in this installation?
Its scanned from an original artwork – acrylic paint on canvas – by artists Alda & Sylvain Bikindou of Thabi Art Fusion
The creative duo were encouraged to pursue their art careers through inspiring encounters with more established artists, who promoted painting as language for self-expression and hope, and who generously mentored aspiring artists like Adla and Sylvain.
Imagine what would be possible if more successful creatives committed to inspiring, nurturing and supporting future generations to follow their dreams?

The artistry and incentives of KnotAgain knows no bounds. Co-owned by sisters, Hlah and Linnet Nyoni, KnotAgain was birthed in 2015 when the duo noticed a gap in the market for unique home products made using the ancient practice of macrame.
Applying a thoroughly modern aesthetic vision, KnotAgain creates artisanal masterpieces woven and knotted from locally supplied cotton, Jute and recycled T-shirt yarn.
Say the duo: “All our pieces are handmade using knots, so no two are ever identical. What makes pur products stand out is their artistry and articulation.”
Inspiration is everywhere all around us – if you just look out for it! It takes the courage of an artist to unlock it. Just ask Bishop Tarambwamwe and his masterful skills when it comes to wire.
Have you spotted the bright, bold yellow letters and happy-faced suns? Watch bellow to see how he brings inspiration to life with his hands.
