Hotels at the V&A Waterfront offer a unique experience inside a neighbourhood that has been alive for over 160 years.
From intimate boutique properties to five-star resorts, every hotel here sits within a working harbour, a creative economy, and a community where there’s always a reason to stay a little longer.
Wake up to the harbour and enjoy your favourite coffee spot as you experience the convenience of having everything within walking distance.
Living at the V&A Waterfront means living inside one of the most connected neighbourhoods in Africa, with everything that comes with it: security, convenience and a view that never gets old.
At the V&A Waterfront, people come together to work, visit, create and belong. More than a destination, it's a neighbourhood of opportunity, supporting 30,000 direct jobs and contributing R45.9 billion to the economy.
A new stretch of Cape Town’s Atlantic coastline is being opened up to the city. Over the next 15 to 20 years, this R20 billion-plus development will bring new homes, hotels, jobs, public space and a protected bay for swimming, kayaking and boating. A 540-metre seawall will help protect the coastline, while a new coastal walkway will connect the V&A directly to the Sea Point promenade.

“Why relocate something that has become a Cape Town icon?” you might ask. “View, views and more breath-taking views” is our answer. This fresh spot will have you gawking throughout the observation-wheel trip of four revolutions.
There are spectacular scenes of Granger Bay and the ocean, full-on frontals of Table Mountain and the Twelve Apostles, a bird’s-eye view of the Waterfront’s harbour and hub of activity, a great perspective of Robben Island and the Cape Town Stadium, and sometimes even showstopper whale and dolphin sightings. This is all thanks to the Cape Wheel’s new position on Breakwater Boulevard, alongside the picturesque Waterfront boardwalk.
Exit Victoria Wharf at Entrance 2 or drive past Toy Kingdom towards the Table Bay, and you cannot miss the towering wheel that’s been with us since the 2010 FIFA World Cup (it previously stood opposite the kids’ play area and food court at Victoria Wharf Shopping Centre). As one of the Waterfront’s most popular attractions, its updated site is sure to cause a stir, offering some of the Mother City’s best Instagram snaps from 40 metres above ground.
Gone are the days when you had to wait for the funfair to come to town in order to take a ride on a magical big wheel. Our Cape Wheel is open seven days a week, making it the perfect place for any occasion to be celebrated. Gather some friends for a four-passenger VIP experience in a cabin with tinted windows, leather seats, a glass floor and music, with a bottle of bubbly for you to enjoy during your ride (soon to be launched), or keep it romantic and book a picnic in the sky for two, where your voyage is extended to double the length. Senior citizens receive a discount on Tuesdays and school groups get reduced-price tickets when pre-booking. And make sure to visit on your birthday, when you can soak up the 15-minute ride for free if you complete the application form ahead of time.
Be one of the first to ride on the epic Cape Wheel in its new territory at the Waterfront, Cape Town. Bookings are now open on www.capewheel.co.za.
