Hotels at the V&A Waterfront offer a unique experience inside a neighbourhood that has been alive for over 160 years.
From intimate boutique properties to five-star resorts, every hotel here sits within a working harbour, a creative economy, and a community where there’s always a reason to stay a little longer.
Wake up to the harbour and enjoy your favourite coffee spot as you experience the convenience of having everything within walking distance.
Living at the V&A Waterfront means living inside one of the most connected neighbourhoods in Africa, with everything that comes with it: security, convenience and a view that never gets old.
At the V&A Waterfront, people come together to work, visit, create and belong. More than a destination, it's a neighbourhood of opportunity, supporting 30,000 direct jobs and contributing R45.9 billion to the economy.
A new stretch of Cape Town’s Atlantic coastline is being opened up to the city. Over the next 15 to 20 years, this R20 billion-plus development will bring new homes, hotels, jobs, public space and a protected bay for swimming, kayaking and boating. A 540-metre seawall will help protect the coastline, while a new coastal walkway will connect the V&A directly to the Sea Point promenade.

The V&A Waterfront has reaffirmed its commitment to lessening the impact of plastics on the environment by signing up to the SA Plastics Pact, as well as hosting a new research study with restaurants in the precinct on ways to eliminate harmful plastics.
The Plastics Pact aims to change the way plastic products and packaging are designed, used, and reused. This is to ensure that plastics are valued and not regarded as cheap and easily disposable waste.
V&A Waterfront’s Custodial Services Senior Manager Petro Myburgh said joining the SA Plastics Pact was one more step the Waterfront was taking in striving to be “a neighbourhood free of single-use plastics” and to be a world leader in systems-based circular design and innovative plastic waste management practices.

Our neighbourhood’s Joy from Africa to the World festive celebration showcase celebrating the warmth and creativity of the African continent received an adjudicators commendation at this year’s Marketing Achievement Awards held in Johannesburg on Wednesday evening. The campaign was celebrated for brave strategy and beautiful execution and how it was able to showcase a solid and smart interpretation of South African insights into relevant and brand-right collateral, all firmly rooted in South African innovation and experience.
The idea was first sparked three years ago when the V&A Waterfront questioned its approach to the annual festive celebration with a view to challenge age old narratives. Why not an African Christmas that benefits local communities?
In response, Africa’s most visited destination set about reimagining a festive season that would celebrate its African roots. The result was ‘Joy from Africa to the World’, an approach to the festive season that heroes local design and sustainability.

We are currently averaging daily footfall of 42.5k people per day. The Watershed is experiencing good recovery, benefitting from school holidays and event activations within the space.
