CELEBRATE SPRING IN OUR NEIGHBOURHOOD
This week weโre taking inspiration from the outdoors and doing a quick round-up of things to do in our neighbourhood to celebrate the month of renewal.
Pick a bunch from Mamma's flowers

It wouldnโt be spring without the beauty of flowers, luckily for us, we get to witness this daily. Taking a quick stroll from the basement parking at our Vic Wharf Shopping Centre just below Clicks, youโre welcomed by the most beautiful arrangements from Mammas Flowers, a tenant of the V&A for the last 30 years. The shop is a fourth-generation family business. We caught up with one of the daughters, Amina Naidoo and asked her a few questions to get to know more about the business.
What is your favourite part of your job?
My great-grandmother has been here since the V&A Waterfront opened but my mom then took over the business about 10 โ 12 years ago. My favourite part of the job is when clients come and want me to arrange flowers for them. Each client is unique, they want something different and itโs always a nice experience when I get to bring their vision to life because one person wonโt go for the same thing as the next person, one client will mix different scents and the other will want their flowers in different colours so itโs always lovely to bring what they had in mind, to life and seeing the smile on their faces when they get to see what I have arranged brings me so much joy. ย
What flower best represents spring?
Freesias or Ranunculus

If I need to apologise to a loved one, what flower should I buy them?
It really depends on the loved one or which family member youโre buying for, for example, your wife, Iโd say roses, everywhere in the world roses represent love and romance and for your mom or aunt Iโd say lilies they have a long life span and when they open up they also smell very nice and then for a friend, I would recommend our mixed bunches of flowers because they will find something in that bunch that they like or find interesting.

ย Marine Wildlife Walk: Meet our wild neighbours

We are so lucky to share our neighbourhood with a wide range of different animalsโ from otters and sunfish to seals, birds, and jellyfish. Some of these animals are regular visitors while others only visit the Waterfront at certain times of the year.
We have created the Marine Wildlife Walk with eight lookout points across the neighbourhood. These points are where you may get to see some of these animals as they go about their lives, feeding, breeding, resting or playing. Look around you โ in the air, in the water, and on the ground โ our wild neighbours are everywhere.
Be sure to visit all seven lookout points around the Waterfront to spot interesting animals. Share your sightings with your family and friends.ย Click here for the full list of lookout points and to learn more about our wild neighbours.
