Join our community of traders, makers and innovators

Since 1990, the V&A Waterfront has grown as a place of trade, creativity and connection. Today, it is home to independent makers, designers, traders, growers, chefs and entrepreneurs across retail, food, fashion, wellness and art.

With 26 million visits in 2025, the precinct offers direct access to a strong mix of local, national and international audiences. Whether people come for everyday shopping, destination dining, markets, culture or harbour-side experiences, the Waterfront brings the crowd and gives your business a place to meet it.

From a permanent space at the Watershed to a weekend stall at the Oranjezicht City Farm Market, a kitchen at Time Out Market or a food truck position beside the harbour, there are opportunities to trade in a way that fits your business now and supports where you want it to grow next.

Art and Design Market

The Watershed

Over 150 independent makers, designers, craftspeople and food traders trade here under one roof.

Leasing opportunities are available for makers, designers, craftspeople and food traders. The Watershed Design Lab programme offers emerging designers a supported first step into retail, including a real trading space, mentorship, training and first-hand experience.

The people who trade here every day call it the place they built their business.

Oranjezicht City Farm Market

Farmer’s market charm in the city

The ever-popular OZCF Market draws between 8 000 and 12 000 people every weekend to its home at the corner of Granger Bay Boulevard and Dock Road.

More than 40 local farmers and 80 artisanal food traders set up here on Saturday and Sunday mornings, as well as Wednesday nights, to sell seasonal produce and locally sourced goods. The values that started the market have not changed as it grew. In the words of founder Sheryl Ozinsky: ‘People and planet above all else.’

Time Out Market

The best of Cape Town’s food scene

Time Out opened its first African market in the V&A Waterfront's Old Power Station Building, spending more than a year identifying some of Cape Town’s most exciting culinary talent, eateries, and emerging food concepts before opening the doors. The result: 2,508sqm, 13 kitchens, three bars, a dedicated wine bar and a live performance stage.

Outdoor Vendors

Harbourfront test kitchen

A food truck position or pop-up stall at the V&A Waterfront is one of the most effective ways to build a following. Locals on their lunch break, visitors with time to browse, families who want to eat outside with a harbour view, they’re all constantly moving through the neighbourhood.

Outdoor vendor positions are available at various locations across the precinct, including alongside the harbour and near the Cape Wheel.
