This store store specialises in women’s clothing ranging from everyday wear to evening wear. Many of these garments and accessories have hand-beaded detail, and hand-illustrated prints on exceptional quality fabrics. MarethColleen is the brainchild of Mareth van der Walt and Colleen Lesch, a forceful fashion duo who lives in in Cape Town. What first began as collaboration on a single wedding dress, has since developed into a fully-fledged creative partnership that led to the production of a range of ready-to-wear women’s apparel that has attracted much attention during the last two years. Using locally sourced talent and materials, Mareth and Colleen produce a diverse range of quality garments that combines clean lines and strong silhouettes with unexpected design elements and whimsical finishes. The MarethColleen range also places a strong emphasis on intricate beadwork, which has led to the founding of a fledgling community upliftment project that empowers rural individuals by means of skills development.
