Signal’s (in the Cape Grace Hotel) has an innovative menu that celebrates the Cape’s rich variety of culture with dishes that pay homage to local flavours and accent European classics. Executive chef, Malika van Reenen, leads the way with a menu that draws its inspiration from the the French Huguenots, British Settlers, the Dutch, and Asian traders. These signature dishes are presented in an elegant venue filled with aged yellowwood furniture, crisp white linen, crystal chandeliers and floor-to-ceiling glass doors. Lovers of seafood will undoubtedly relish seasonal specialities such as the fragrant butter curry risotto with spiced kingklip and grilled prawns, while those after a hearty meal might opt for an ostrich steak (a local favourite) or confit of lamb shoulder. Vegetarians will love creations such as the caramelised aubergine and chickpea salad and the creamy mushroom tortellini, and those with a sweet tooth will delight in desserts such as the tart raspberry sorbet served with a nutty pistachio sponge and vanilla mousse. Warm and attentive staff ensure personable service, with a knowledgeable sommelier available to pair each selected dish with an expertly chosen glass of wine.
