The iconic Cape Town Jazzathon celebrates its 22nd anniversary at the V&A Waterfront Amphitheatre from the 10th – 13th January 2019.
Fondly known as the People’s Festival, this landmark event is the longest running South African jazz showcase in South Africa and will once again feature four days of live music performances by some of the youngest and latest up-and-coming musicians in Cape Town. The event has long been the champion of music development and once again promises to introduce patrons to brand new talent.
Produced by JCQ Productions, Jazzathon has contributed vastly to launching the careers of fresh talent and introducing audiences to artists like Jonathan Rubain, Cameron Ward, Judith Sephuma, Selaelo Selota, Allou April, FreshlyGround, Jimmy Dludlu, Mark Fransman and many more.
This year’s programme will feature youth and emerging artists, women in jazz, collaborations, gospel artists and Cape jazz legends.
Jazzathon weekend promises to deliver sizzling Cape Town weather and the best jazz music in the Mother City. The programme line-up will be announced shortly. Follow Jazzathon on Facebook @jazzathon for the latest updates.
