Thurs 1 Jan - Flat Stanley
Flat Stanley have earned themselves accolades for both their studio albums which have earned them no fewer than 10 radio hits, including three number one songs. This success has led to several Flat Stanley live performances on both radio and TV to audiences in excess of 8 million people. The combination of show-stopping performances and beautifully crafted songs has seen Flat Stanley become SA’s premier melodic rock group in the space of only five years. Consistent sold out performances around SA have also led to Flat Stanley receiving numerous invitations from some of the world’s biggest names in music to join then on their tours.
Fri 2 Jan - MacGuyver Nife
From deep within the bowels of Cape Town comes a deep rumbling whose thunderous beats and catchy choruses can no longer be ignored. In less than 6 months of giggling, Cape Town’s Indi-rock band MacGyver Nife has already made their mark on the CT club scene, selling out venues with their diverse and infectious sets. Straddling the pool of inspiration from Brit heroes Oasis and Radiohead, to more sinister sound of Kings of Leon, their music has been described as ‘inspired and ferocious and hot!
Sat 3 Jan - AlanFunk
The AlanFunk band has gigged extensively all over Cape Town. The band’s sound is a unique, hard-hitting African Funk Party music style and is always extremely well received by audiences
Sun 4 Jan - Southpaw
Southpaw takes listeners on an inspired journey through unusual “soundscapes”, utilising right-brain innovation and a daring eclecticism. Southpaw is comprised of four highly individualistic musicians, who manage to fuse an ethereal, uncompromising style from their love of funk, rock, jazz and alternative.
