The historic working harbour with its impressive backdrop of Table Mountain has much to do with the unique ambience of the Waterfront. Add to this the festive street entertainers in the form of clowns, jugglers, mime artists, balloon sculptors, stilt walkers and street musicians of every description, and the Waterfront is a veritable theatre of activity.
With this setting and pageantry, it is apt that the Waterfront stages every form of entertainment imaginable - music concerts, dance performances and drama have graced the V&A Waterfront Amphitheatre. Whether a small production featuring one performer, or a large performance featuring a 100-strong children's choir, every taste is catered for.
Massive fireworks displays staged for the city, international yacht races, charity, fundraising, community events, product launches and awareness campaigns - every event staged in the Waterfront reflects the rich diversity of the inhabitants of Cape Town and the people that visit it.
