YVES ROCHER – Committed to Nature (Woolworths V&A)

Since its inception in the 1950’s preservation of nature has been at the forefront for Yves Rocher. Using nature to uncover the special formulas used in their products to provide women with the beauty they deserve, they ensure that what they take away from nature they give back. Botanical Beauty is at the core of this successful brand and as such they remain committed to sustainable and eco-friendly products.

With sustainability a must for this brand, Yves Rocher is continuing its pledge to plant 50 million trees, in celebration of their 50 year anniversary, in a bid to give back to the environment. Together with their partnership and commitment to the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), Yves Rocher has committed to fighting the ravages of nature by planting these 50 million trees over the next 5 years. This initiative, which began in 2010, has already planted 12 million trees to date and will meet their goal in 2015. This is just one way in which the brand is reaffirming their commitment to sustainable development and issuing a call to action to defend biodiversity.

“The vision of Yves Rocher has always been to create botanical beauty through natural products, but to ensure that we continuously give back to the environment. 50 years on, we continue to ensure that we care for and nurture the nature that provides us with so much,” says Lee-Anne Jacobs, Marketing Manager for Yves Rocher South Africa.

Actions speak louder than words and as such Yves Rocher ensures they continually back up their commitment to preserving nature.

All packaging is eco-friendly, they do not test on animals and they limit the maximum recyclable plastic used in every bottle. Even within the Yves Rocher International stores there are no plastic bags available, only re-usable cotton bags. Their annual official catalogue The Green Book of Beauty, which showcases Yves Rocher’s dedication to the latest botanical innovation, is printed on recyclable paper coming from managed forest “It runs in our veins, like sap in a tree. For us, nature is not a concept; it’s our way of viewing life. We respect nature because we live with it,” concludes Jacques Rocher, President, Yves Rocher Foundation - Institut de France.

Yves Rocher products are available exclusively at selected Woolworths stores nationwide.
