Kids Ahoy: Holiday Programme 

"HANDS ON FUN FOR EVERYONE"

With the midyear school holiday looming, the V&A Waterfront has unveiled an indoor children's programme sure to keep little hands and minds occupied while having fun.  From cooking classes, arts and crafts workshops to a petting farm, we have a range of free and paid for activities that will keep your little ones busy, happy and creative.

Barrow Court (Victoria Wharf adjacent to Naartjie)

Tots ‘n Pots will teach little ones about colours and tastes through their fun sweet & savoury pancake decorating workshops.

Red Shed Craft Workshop (alongside the Cape Town Fish Market)

When: 3 July - 15 July 2012

Who: Ages 4-9 years

Programme Details & Cost: 

10h00-17h00 Daily
Kids will be entertained by qualified child minders with age appropriate toys and games freeing up parents to do their shopping or have a relaxed meal.

Cost: R30 / child per hour
Maximum: 2 Hour time limit per child.

Bookings: Booking and payment can be made on site from the meet and greet area situated in the Red Shed from the 3rd of July.


Craft Market & Wellness Centre
(adjacent to the Two Oceans Aquarium)

When: 24 June - 15 July 2012

Who: Ages 4-9 years

Programme Details & Cost: 

11h00-16h30 Daily
Children can make friends with ducklings, piglets, chickens, guinea pigs and rabbits at the Craft Market’s Petting Farm.
Cost: R20 per child.

12h00-13h00 Daily
Plant Craft Mania will see children potting, planting, painting, platting, pressing, decorating and doing creative recycling.

15h00-16h00 Daily
Animal craft creations will spoil pets back at home with little ones making specially decorated drinking bowls and homemade bird feeders.

Cost: R50 per child per workshop.
Parents are welcome to join in and make their own craft at an additional cost.
Maximum: 8 Children / workshop

Bookings: Booking and payment can be made on site from the Information Kiosk situated in the Craft Market from the 23rd  June 2012.

The Wheel of Excellence: 
Cape Town’s favourite big wheel is still here, offering visitors the opportunity to explore the city, harbour and mountain from new heights - a great treat for the entire family!

Two Oceans Aquarium: 
Introducing Samantha - small-town girl hits the Mother City

Visit Barrow’s Court between 3 and 15 July to meet Samantha, a small-town girl who’s moved to the Mother City. Samantha is the Aquarium’s new mascot. She’s an endangered African penguin, and she joins Terminator the Seal and Silver the Shark to form a terrific trio for kids!

Samantha will be entertaining kids at Barrow’s Court (within Victoria Wharf) at 11h15 and 16h15 every day from 3 to 15 July. Bring your brood to be photographed with Aquarium friends, and let them play with arts and crafts.

The newest puppet show: Rocky in New Waters

Join Rocky the rockhopper penguin on his journey in unfamiliar Cape Town waters. Meet a shark, Loppy the rock lobster and Hopper the African penguin, as they help Rocky find a new home.

Rocky in New Waters is a great puppet show teaching children about the different penguin species found at the Aquarium as well as how the rockhopper penguins arrived on our shores.

The puppet shows take place daily at 10h30, 13h30 and 16h00.
